Dear Sirs,
The Center for European Studies and the Center for American Studies invite you to participate in the 2nd National Scientific Conference entitled "Problems and Challenges of Sociology, Resocialization and the Penitentiary System".
When?
The conference will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, between 4:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. online on the Microsoft Teams platform.
The exact length of the conference depends on the number of speakers. In the event of a high number of applications, we reserve the right to extend the conference to Saturday, November 8, 2025.
What is the conference about?
The main assumption of the conference is to create a platform for a broad and interdisciplinary discussion on current problems and future challenges related to the areas of sociology, resocialization and the penitentiary system.
The conference is a platform for an unrestricted exchange of experiences, views and research between young and experienced scientists, professionals and practitioners.
We will address the subject matter of the Conference from both a theoretical and practical perspective. We will take into account contemporary and historical perspectives. Papers may cover issues from Poland, Europe and the rest of the world.
Suggested (example) thematic areas:

✓ Social challenges of the 21st century
✓ Reforms of the penitentiary system
✓ Resocialization of prisoners
✓ Prison sociology
✓ Recidivism

In addition, the papers may be interdisciplinary in nature, combining various fields of science.
We believe in freedom of academic discussion and do not censor presentations for ideological or political reasons. Original and unconventional presentations will always be appreciated by the Scientific Committee.

We cordially invite students and PhD students, experienced researchers, practitioners, as well as all other people interested in the conference topics to actively participate in the conference.
Passive participation does not require any scientific qualifications.
