3rd National Fashion Law Congress
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Center for European Studies and the Center for American Studies invite you to participate in the 3rd National Fashion Law Congress - a unique event that is a place for the exchange of knowledge and discussion between fashion law enthusiasts and representatives of the fashion industry!
When?
The Congress will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025 between 9:00 and 16:00 online on the Microsoft Teams platform.
The length of the Congress depends on the number of speakers. In the event of a high number of applications, we reserve the right to extend the conference to Sunday, September 16, 2025.
WHAT is the Conference about?
The main objective of the Fashion Law Congress is to discuss the issues of fashion law in the perspective of generally applicable national law (Polish), foreign legal orders, international regulations and practical aspects of running a business in the fashion industry (from marketing, through specific employment methods, to environmental protection policies restricting the activities of fashion companies).
The organizers of the Fashion Law Congress wish to discuss a multitude of pressing issues related to the law in the fashion industry, such as licensing agreements, copyrights, trademark protection and legal aspects related to the production and distribution of fashion products (clothing and accessories).
Proposed (example) thematic areas:
✓ Intellectual property law (including in particular copyright and trademark law) in the fashion industry
✓ Contracts and commercial transactions related to the fashion industry (domestic and international)
✓ Labor law and forms of employment in the fashion industry
✓ Customs and taxes on business entities selling clothing and accessories
✓ Trade dress – case studies
✓ New challenges for the fashion industry (including artificial intelligence, digitalization and virtual reality)
✓ The most interesting rulings on “fashion matters” and their consequences
✓ Ethical issues of clothing production (modern slave labor, child labor, environmental degradation, etc.)
✓ Issues related to international supply chains
✓ Legal aspects of modeling
✓ The fashion industry and startups and e-commerce
The above thematic areas are only examples – we strongly encourage you to go beyond them. In addition, presentations may be interdisciplinary in nature, combining various fields of science.
We do not censor presentations for political or ideological reasons. Original and unconventional presentations will always be appreciated by the Scientific Committee.
We accept presentations in Polish and English.
Presentations may be based on your own or someone else's research (review of achievements and literature), as well as take the form of case studies. Presentations in the form of a poster are also accepted.
For whom?
- We cordially invite students and PhD students, experienced researchers, industry practitioners, as well as all other people interested in the subject matter of the congress to actively participate in the congress.
- Passive participation does not require any scientific qualifications.
