Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Center for European Studies and the Center for American Studies invite you to participate in the 3rd National Conference on Theory, Philosophy and History of Law.
➡️When?
The conference will take place on Friday, April 18, 2025, between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. online on the Microsoft Teams platform.
The length of the conference depends on the number of speakers. In the event of a high number of applications, we reserve the right to extend the congress to Saturday, April 19, 2025.
➡️What is the conference about?
The main aim of the conference is to discuss key problems, achievements and challenges facing theoreticians, philosophers and historians of law - both from the perspective of each of these subdisciplines separately and from cross-sectional issues.
Proposed (sample) thematic areas?
• History of legal doctrines occurring in particular periods (ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary)
• Selected issues from the history of Polish, European and world law
• The latest concepts in the theory and philosophy of law, as well as historical proposals preceding them
• Philosophy of international law
• Rule of law and principles of social justice
• Formation of legal systems in Europe and around the world
• And many more!
The thematic areas indicated above are examples only - we strongly encourage you to go beyond their framework. Moreover, the presentations may be interdisciplinary in nature, combining various fields of science.
We believe in freedom of academic discussion and do not censor speeches for ideological, political or religious reasons. Original and unique speeches will always be appreciated by the Scientific Committee.

• We cordially invite students and PhD students, experienced researchers, as well as all other people interested in the congress topics to actively participate in the congress.
• Passive participation does not require any scientific qualifications.
