EVENT DESCRIPTION
II National Congress of Media and Social Communication Sciences
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Center for European Studies and the Center for American Studies invite you to participate in the 2nd National Congress of Media and Social Communication Sciences.
When?
The Congress will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, between 4:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. online on the Microsoft Teams platform.
The length of the Congress depends on the number of speakers. In the event of a high number of applications, we reserve the right to extend the Congress to Saturday, May 10, 2025.
What is the Congress about?
The main assumption of the Congress is a discussion on the broadly understood media and social communication.
The Congress is a platform for the free exchange of experiences, views and research between young and experienced scientists and professionals operating (or wanting to operate) in the media, journalism, PR and communication industries.
We will address the subject issues of the Congress from both a theoretical and practical perspective. We will take into account both contemporary and historical perspectives. Presentations may cover issues from Poland, Europe and the rest of the world.
The Scientific Committee is also open to presentations from representatives of other fields interested in the subject of media and social communication.
Suggested (example) thematic areas:
✓ Traditional media vs. digital media
✓ Media evolution
✓ Media and public opinion
✓ Social aspects of online communication
✓ The role of media in the political process, election campaigns and shaping political narratives
✓ Media and culture
✓ Analysis of psychological aspects of media use
✓ The role of journalism in society
✓ Media education
✓ Research on the effectiveness of advertising and marketing communication
✓ Evolution of social platforms
✓ Legal and ethical challenges in media and communication
✓ Ethics of private vs. public communication
The above thematic areas are only examples - we strongly encourage you to go beyond them. In addition, the presentations may be interdisciplinary in nature, combining various fields of science. We believe in freedom of academic discussion and do not censor presentations for ideological or political reasons. Original and unconventional presentations will always be appreciated by the Scientific Committee.
Presentations may be based on your own or someone else's research (review of achievements and literature), as well as take the form of case studies. Presentations in the form of a poster are also accepted.
For whom?
☞ We cordially invite students and PhD students, experienced researchers, industry practitioners, as well as all other people interested in the subject of the congress to actively participate in the congress. ☞ Passive participation does not require any scientific qualifications.
